Hello,
My name is Daniel Koster and I have been on a journey of faith since 1993, when I heard the story of King Saul and Samuel and the “to obey is better than sacrifice” lesson for the hundredth time. But during that instance, something clicked in my head and I finally got it. Now I have a true relationship with the creator of the universe, and I love to use my talents to bring Him glory.
One of those talents is knowing my way around a sound board and being involved in the production and technical arts side of a worship service. I hope to use this site to communicate with others on the topic as well as a training tool for volunteers wanting to get behind the mixing console at their own church.
My life can be divided into three areas, family, ministry, and business, and so I’ve created separate blogs for the three areas.
Most of my ministry time is spent as a volunteer at North Point Community Church. It’s a rather large church that has four separate small auditoriums just for the elementary aged kids, and that’s where my current responsibilities are. I take advantage of whatever opportunities I can to run sound and help out with other technical stuff for Upstreet, North Point’s K through 5th grade ministry.
Since I have been responsible for training many new volunteers, many of which have never worked with sound equipment before, I hope to put together some resources and an introductory guide that I can share. That’s when I came up with the “Reinforcing the Church” title, I thought it would work well as a book title.
It is my goal to move away from the computer related IT consulting that I currently do for a living and start finding ways to make a living doing what I love and currently do for free, and that is this ministry. If I can be of assistance to your ministry, whether it be answering some questions or coming out to meet with you and your volunteers, I would love to talk to you. You can e-mail me at Daniel at ReinforcingTheChurch . com, or call me at 678-427-0013.

Hey, Daniel! I was looking for a site dealing with recording, as in “recording myself,” and I stumbled onto your blog! I like it. I’m a sax player, in and out of church, and one of my crosses to bear is being the audibly weakest instrument in a band. You have some informative stuff here, and I will be coming back! Derrick.
